If a hotel showcases many images of it's rooms and public areas it is still not always possible to capture the true essence of the property without using intriguing little snapshots as well. Guests love to take a peep into hotel life before they arrive to try and experience the ambiance of the place. There is a desire to “look” behind the scenes at hotel staff preparing food, tending to rooms, assisting corporate clients in the business centre etc. People also like to see how fellow guests are spending their time at a hotel. Whether it be relaxing by the pool, dining in a restaurant or indulging in a spa treatment.
Even if the main brief is for a traditional wide angle shoot I always try to document as many little moments as possible during my stay at a property. It is surprising how useful hotels find these images despite perhaps not previously considering them.
